First woman to be selected to the England team
Rock-It-Ball can be played by both men and women on the same team and last week Alexandra Chambers was selected as the first English woman to asked to represent her country. Listen to the interview that Alex gave to BBC Tees Valley Radio BBC Interview New Coach for the England Youth Squad
Craig Buttery National Program Director for England recently asked Paul Read to take the role of Coach for the England Youth Squad and "thankfully Paul agreed" said Craig. Craig also said "This is a significant step forward for the sport and the England program as Paul comes to the table with a wealth of experience from a number of sports, he has a great personallity and sense of humour, I look forward to working with Paul very soon"
ERIBA salutes ‘Founding Fathers’ of Rock-it-ball and first round of Hall Of Fame inductees
On 27 July, following the climax of the 2008 ENRL season, CEO of IRIBF Craig Buttery and our very own Technical Officer and first ever international player Tom Hildreth were sworn into the IRIBF Hall of Fame for their services to the sport and presented with commemorative rings. Special Hall of Fame recognition was presented to the Founding Fathers of the sport Bob Eldridge, Paul Hildreth and Paul Law. ENRL victory for Hellcats
Easingwold’s Easi Rock-its Hellcats stormed to victory in the opening season of the National league, 12 points clear at the top of the table. It was a hard fought season for all who took part and CEO of ERIBA Ian Crosby says “It was a very proud moment for me to present the league trophy to the Hellcats as a symbol of their dedication to their training and attendance at the league sessions in this the first official season of competition.”

On 5th October 2008 ERIBA and IRIBF proudly invited the first round of inductees into the new Rock-It-Ball Coaching Academy Programme.
The programme is essentially a talent identification scheme that will provide unique opportunities to talented and aspiring coaches, as well as making resources and training available to all IRIBF qualified coaches.
